Collection: Colin D. Weeka (d)
( -2022)
Colin D. Weeka, the son of Calvin Weeka Jr. and grandson of the late Calvin Weeka Sr.(d), grew up surrounded by a family of accomplished carvers. From an early age, Colin followed in their footsteps, starting out carving mountain lions, bobcats, and other wildlife perched on trees. Over time, he expanded mastering the intricate depiction of resting deer, fauns, eagles, owls, and a wide array of bird species. Colin's signature style involved meticulously incising lines to represent fur and feathers across the bodies of his animal carvings. His keen eye for detail and ability to select the perfect stone for each piece set his work apart from many of his peers.
