Collection: Hiram Peynetsa

Pay-net-sah

Hiram Peynetsa, comes from a family of prestigious carvers and jewelers. His mother, Erica Bobelu Peynetsa(d), instilled in him a passion for the craft, which he honed by watching his uncles - Bremette Epaloose(d), Chris, and Julius Yuselew(d. Over time, Hiram has developed a distinctive style, often working with white and black marble, lapis, picture jasper, and turquoise. His mastery of animals is unparalleled, with his medicine bears, badgers, Kolowisi serpents, Kokopelli, eagles, and a wide array of bird species being particularly noteworthy. Hiram further enhances his carvings by inlaying healing heart lines, badger stripes, paw pads, and Zuni sun faces, while also incising fur and decorative motifs like feathers on the backs of his animals. His work consistently earns him awards, especially for his flying eagles, eagle families, and medicine bears.
