Esteban, the younger brother of Ruben Najera, is considered a treasure within the Zuni fetish carving community. In the mid-1980s, Esteban was one of five Zuni cousins who were the first to learn the safe technique of carving antler under a fume hood. Esteban's specialty lies in his exceptional attention to fine detail. He is particularly passionate about carving detailed skeletal figures, including an intricate carving of a skeleton rock band complete with musical instruments.
