The amber itself glows with rich golden hues, ranging from deep honey to warm cognac, its translucent body revealing ancient swirls and natural inclusions that shimmer in the light. The surface is polished smooth, yet retains subtle curves and textures that echo the bear’s powerful, muscular form. The bear stands in a classic pose of movement—its head lowered slightly, paws grounded, as though just emerging from a stream. Clenched gently in its mouth is a turquoise fish, carved with delicate detail. The fish’s cool blue-green color stands in sharp contrast to the amber, making it the visual focal point—a symbol of sustenance, abundance, and nature’s interconnected cycles. Set into the bear’s face are turquoise eyes, bright and clear. Their vivid color brings a sense of awareness and spirit to the bear, animating it with a soulfulness that transcends the material. Bear (Anshe): Bear was the principal animal for the Pueblo People and they are the most prevalent subject of Zuni fetishes. Bear fetishes are used for healing, protection, strength, journeying, mothering, hunting and gathering. Bear‚ hibernation reminds us of the value of going within.
