David Chavez: Onyx, Snake
David Chavez: Onyx, Snake
Cha-vez
A slithering snake carved from brown and tan onyx moves with a graceful, sinuous form, its body smoothly polished to highlight the natural bands and swirls of the stone. Shades of warm brown and soft tan flow along its curves, creating a sense of depth and subtle texture. Set into the snake’s head are vivid turquoise eyes, their bright blue providing a striking contrast against the earthy tones of the onyx and giving the creature a lively, watchful presence. The combination of the warm, flowing onyx and the vibrant turquoise eyes gives the carving a sense of quiet vitality and natural elegance, as if the snake is poised and ready to glide into motion at any moment.
Snake (Chitdola): Snake sheds its skin. This is a powerful symbol of our need to discard old ways, patterns, and perspectives. Snake meaning is that of alchemy, i.e. that which is negative may be transformed into something positive.
