Derrick has been carving since the late 80's. Cousin of Esteban Najera and nephew of Pernell(d) and Max Laate. Derrick is known for his innovative approaches to capturing the intricate textures and forms of feathers, always avoiding repetitive patterns in his depictions of the wing coverts and scapulars.
